There are stories everywhere around us and they are constantly happening. Our job, as writers, is to look and listen for them, to take full advantage of our surroundings. Every window of the apartment building across from my apartment building has a story within it. Some may be more interesting than others, and some may not be interesting at all, but still, there are stories within each window. Remember, imagination can always come in to make a dull story interesting. Each person I see during the course of my day has his or her own story. In having to find stories in my everyday life, I force myself to be more tuned into my environment and my world. And this can never be a bad thing. Rather, it is always a good thing.
